Our story
About 936 Fitness
936 Fitness, founded in 2015 by Center, Texas native and Stephen F. Austin kinesiology graduate Grant Belrose is the leading group fitness gym serving the Tri-County area including Shelby, San Augustine, and Panola Counties. More than just a gym, 936 Fitness is a community where lives are transformed through expert coaching, personalized support, and real relationships. With over a decade of experience in functional fitness, Grant’s mission is to help people of all ages in East Texas become stronger, healthier, and more capable both inside and outside the gym.

Grant grew up playing sports and found his true calling in the world of functional fitness. Since 2014, he has competed at the highest levels including CrossFit Regionals, Sanctionals, and Semifinals and is consistently ranked among the top 100 fittest athletes worldwide. Known across the Tri-County area for his dedication and energy, Grant’s journey is living proof that hard work and consistency leads to lasting results. Today, he brings that same competitive mindset and passion into every class he coaches, inspiring members from Shelby, San Augustine, and Panola Counties to chase their goals.

What truly shaped Grant’s vision for 936 Fitness in Center, Texas was seeing the impact of functional fitness on his own family. His parents, both in their 60s and nearing 70, are thriving, staying active on their ranch in East Texas, and still coaching volleyball, teaching gymnastics and swim lessons with the energy of people half their age. This real-life transformation showed Grant that fitness goes beyond appearance. For the Tri-County community, fitness means living stronger, staying independent, and enjoying life at every age. At 936 Fitness, that’s the mission.
Now, alongside his wife, Kori Belrose, and their daughter, Grant’s mission at 936 Fitness has grown even deeper. He’s not only helping individuals reach their fitness goals he’s empowering moms and dads across the Tri-County area to become stronger, more energized, and better role models for their families. Meet our coaches

Hi I’m Grant, founder and head coach of 936 Fitness here in East Texas.
I hold certifications including CrossFit Level 1, CrossFit Level 2, CrossFit Kids, and a Bachelors of Science. I’m passionate about helping people move better, get stronger, and build confidence inside and outside the gym. Whether you’re just starting out or chasing performance goals, I believe in meeting you where you are and challenging you to grow from there.
Fitness changed my life, and I love creating a space where it can do the same for others.
My name is Beth Nichols. I am a retired teacher/coach of 34 years from Center where I taught PE and coached middle school and high school volleyball, basketball, track and tennis throughout my career. I have an all level Physical Education degree and secondary English degree and a Master’s degree in Education. I have taught every age kid K-College and now adults. I have been doing Cross Fit since 2016 and got my Level 1 Cross Fit certification so I could help Grant coach. I have been coaching Cross Fit for 6 years now. When I’m not doing this, I am a grandmother of 4, so they keep fairly busy. I also help Teresa Belrose with swimming lessons in the spring and summer. Fitness and exercise has always been a huge part of my life, but nothing more life changing than CF these past 9 years!

Hey y’all, I’m Jillian! I grew up in Santa Fe, Texas, where I was introduced to CrossFit at a young age my parents owned a gym, and I’ve been at it since the 6th grade. That early foundation in fitness led me to compete in CrossFit events with family and friends and later earn my CrossFit Level 1 Certification, which I’ve held for over five years. I went on to play collegiate volleyball at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, where I gained a deeper appreciation for athletic performance, teamwork, and injury prevention. That experience, combined with my years of coaching, ultimately led me to pursue a career in chiropractic care.
Today, I’m a Doctor of Chiropractic and bring a movement-based, performance-focused approach to training. My goal is to help others build strength, move well, and stay healthy whether you’re just starting your fitness journey or pushing toward new goals.
